Ducks on the doorstep...

We have arrived! The drive down was more than reasonable, only crawling for about 10 miles or so around the Bristol area on the M5. The only talking point of the journey down was the christening of Olivia's new emergency potty 8 miles from our destination (and it was Olivia that christened it before you infer otherwise).

An emergency stop

We arrived at our cottage shortly after 4pm, greeted by Simon one of the cottage owners, and a scattering of ducks. The farm is practically in the middle of nowhere, the only sounds are the bleating of sheep, or the quacking of ducks.

The cottage is beautiful, prestine inside and more than comfortable for a weeklong stay. Simon brought us over freshly made scones with clotted cream & jam shortly after our arrival.

Olivia has already found the local playground and indoor activity room, as well as getting to know the farms critters.

It's looking like Chinese takeaway this evening, then an early night in preparation for our first day proper. Enjoy the pics.

  1. Don't know why you need the Chinese for tea when you've all that choice on the doorstep (Lamb casserole, duck a l'orange or even chicken pie).
